Whether you’re just beginning on the piano or already playing Beethoven, I’m excited to help you reach the next level! My name is Kari Chord, and through Chord Music Studios, I provide affordable private piano lessons in the Des Moines metro. I currently focus on northwestern Polk County and the cities of Urbandale, Johnston, West Des Moines, Grimes, Granger, and Polk City.
My approach is both personalized and flexible. I’ll work with your busy schedule to find the right time for lessons, and I’ll teach you to play right in your home! No matter your skill level, I’ll create an individualized curriculum to help you grow as a musician. It includes regular assessments and performances to showcase your progress.

I’ve spent years as a singer, songwriter, and musician. I started Chord Music Studios in the 1990s and have been teaching students to play ever since.
I’m dedicated to helping students at all levels grow in their musical skills. Learning to play the piano helps children develop in all areas of life, from academics to overall confidence, and I’m passionate about helping each student reach their full potential.
Flexible Piano Lessons at an Affordable Cost
